🐶 An Introduction to Logan Whistles – A Family Legacy
Logan Whistles is a family-run business with roots in Ireland, now proudly manufacturing in the UK.
It all began in the 1950s, when Harford Logan, a budding sheepdog trial competitor, noticed how lip-whistles used in Irish hunting were incredibly effective. Lightweight and easy to use on horseback, these mouth whistles produced clear tones that carried over great distances—even against the chaotic background of the hunt.
Harford realised something crucial:
💡 Dogs responded far better to whistle tones than to human voices.
He became determined to develop a more 'musical' whistle—one capable of multiple tones, layered meaning, and even emotional expression. In short, a whistle that would allow him to have a real “conversation” with his dogs.
Decades later, Logan Whistles are used by handlers and dog lovers across the globe—and it all started with one man, a passion for dogs, and the belief that sound matters.
