Built for dogs that actually live outdoors

The Brumby Swag is a tough, standalone canvas swag designed for real Australian conditions: cold ground, wet weather, dust, mud and long nights away from home. It doesn’t rely on your tent or the rest of your setup. Peg it down and your dog has their own shelter, wherever you are.

It took 12 months of design, sampling and field testing to get right. Durability came first, comfort second, and gimmicks not at all.

“Maggie asked me to review a prototype before the product went to production. It was great to see how open she was to suggestions and improvements. The finished product is excellent – strong, practical and built to last. You can tell a lot of care goes into the design process.” – Steve Walsh, prototype tester

Built tough

The swag is made from 16 oz (500gsm) heavy-duty canvas that handles paddocks, campsites, kennels, ute trays and bush trips without falling apart. A waterproof base keeps moisture out from below, and the canvas storm overlay and heavy-duty zips hold up in bad weather.

• Two ventilated awnings with flyscreen panels: insects out, fresh air in
• Side awnings that peg out for extra weather protection
• Peg-down waterproof base, stable on any ground
• Internal pockets for leads, collars and small essentials

Comfortable inside

Your dog lies on a quilted canvas mat that’s removable, waterproof and washable. It insulates them from the cold ground and stands up to working dogs that don’t tiptoe around their gear.

Setting up

1. Peg the four corners.
2. Thread the aluminium extendable rods through both ends.
3. Fit the centre telescopic rod and extend it to the correct length.
4. Secure it in place and peg down the awnings.

It packs into a zip-up carry bag of about 50 x 20 x 20 cm, small enough to throw in the ute, the camper or the back of the car.

Size

• Swag: 100 x 80 cm
• Suits most breeds, from compact working dogs to large paddock dogs

Before first use: cure the canvas

Like any good canvas swag, the Brumby needs curing before first use to get full waterproof performance. Full instructions come with your order. It takes a couple of fine days of wetting and drying, but it only needs doing once and makes all the difference.

Why it’s a limited run

We don’t mass produce. Each run is made to our standard, and when it sells out, the next batch depends on production timelines. There’s no warehouse full of them, so if you’ve been thinking about one, that’s worth knowing.

30-day satisfaction guarantee

If it’s not right for your dog, get in touch and we’ll sort it out. No lengthy back-and-forth and no fine print. When you put your name on something you built yourself, you back it.

Built for these dogs

The Brumby Swag is for working dogs that earn their keep, camping dogs that go where you go, and dogs that don’t get pampered but still deserve somewhere decent to rest at the end of a hard day. If that sounds like your dog, this was made for them.
