The Camp Mat was designed for one purpose: to give your dog somewhere decent to sleep. Whether that's an old kennel out the back, a ute tray, the verandah or the shed.

Tough enough to live outside. Comfortable enough that they'll actually use it. Easy enough to clean that you won't have to think about it.

THE STORY BEHIND IT

I wanted something simple. Something you could throw into an old kennel, leave out through winter, hose off when it needed it, and trust it was still doing its job years later.

I couldn't find it. Everything was either too flimsy, flat and falling apart within a season, or overbuilt and overpriced for what it was.

And every time I visited a property or saw working dogs around the district, I noticed the same thing. Good dogs. Hard workers. Sleeping on bare hardwood kennel floors and hot steel ute trays. Not because their owners didn't care, but because nothing out there was worth buying.

A dog that works that hard deserves better than a hard floor, and it shouldn't cost a fortune to give it to them.

So I designed the Camp Mat myself. I sampled it, I tested it, and I'm proud of it.

BUILT FOR THE LONG HAUL

The cover is 500gsm heavy-duty canvas, the same weight we use across our outdoor range. Tough, water resistant, and made to handle muddy paws, rough sleepers, wet winters and daily in-and-out.

Inside, eco-friendly cotton filling gives your dog real cushioning off the ground and holds its shape wash after wash.

The cover zips off completely. Wash it, dry it, zip it back on. That's the whole maintenance routine.

SIZES

Colt — 70 x 50 x 15cm
For smaller working dogs, puppies and compact breeds. Suits smaller kennels, crates and ute cages.

Stallion — 90 x 60 x 15cm
Our most popular size. Suits medium to large dogs like Kelpies, Cattle Dogs, Border Collies and Labs, and fits most standard kennels and ute trays.

Goliath — 120 x 100 x 18cm
Our biggest and deepest mat, for the big dogs who take up the whole tray.

Not sure which size? Measure your kennel floor, or your dog stretched out. If in doubt, go up a size. Dogs like room to move.

BEFORE FIRST USE: CURE THE CANVAS

Like a good canvas swag, the Camp Mat works best once it's been cured. This makes the canvas fibres swell and tighten, which improves its water resistance.

1. Take out the inner filling.
2. Wet the canvas cover thoroughly with clean, cold water.
3. Let it dry completely in the shade.
4. Repeat 2 to 3 times before use.

No detergent and no artificial heat (no dryer). It's a one-off job, so it's worth picking a few fine days to do it.

A NOTE ON CHEWING

The canvas is tough and stands up to a lot, but no fabric mat is chew-proof. If you have a determined chewer, please supervise them until you know how they'll treat it.

THE HONEST TRUTH ABOUT PRICE

There are thinner mats online for less. Most of them end up in the bin within a year, flattened, chewed or soaked through. Over the life of a dog you can spend more replacing cheap mats than buying one good one.

The Camp Mat costs a bit more because it's made from better materials and built for harder conditions. Buy it once, use it for years, and give your dog somewhere decent to sleep.
