Small dogs get overlooked when it comes to herding gear. We didn’t think that was fair.

Poddy is our 45 cm ball, built for the small but mighty: Mini Aussies, Corgis, Jack Russells and any other compact herder with big working instinct. Because the little legends deserve proper gear too.

It has the same dual-layer build as our other balls: a tough PVC inner ball inside a 2520 denier Oxford nylon outer cover, so it can take a nudging, a chasing and a fair bit of teeth. It’s finished in a soft pale turquoise that’s easy to spot against grass and dirt.

Indoors or out

Poddy’s smaller size makes it just as at home inside as in the yard. It’s perfect for wet days, small spaces or apartment living. Your dog gets the same nudging and chasing satisfaction without needing a paddock.

Which size does your dog need?

Too small and it turns into a chew toy. Too big and your dog gives up before they’ve had a single nudge. Get it right and you’ll watch your dog switch straight into working mode: head down, tail up, fully focused.

If Sheepo (55 cm) is too much ball for your dog, Poddy is the one to try. For bigger breeds, we make Jumbuck (65 cm), so however big your dog is, there’s a size that fits.

Getting the most out of Poddy

1. Zip the cover three-quarters shut before inflating, for a snug fit with no wrinkles.
2. Start with short sessions so your dog gets the hang of it.
3. Always supervise play. No toy is completely indestructible.
4. Keep it out of direct sun when it’s not in use.

Spare parts, always in stock

Inner balls, outer covers and valves are all sold separately. If your dog eventually wears through a cover or needs a new valve, you’re not buying a whole new ball, just the part that needs replacing.
